    noise mania?

    hi guys, i went and look a few night shots of te city last night and the results are very dissappointing, they look very noisey see the example below 100% crop of the left hand side of the exposure, i had long exposure NR on so i cant figure it out...

    And the lens, ISO, exposure length and other details were?

    iso 100, 30seconds, 18mm so kit lens i guess.
    what does the regular photo look like ? (uncropped). for a 100% crop i actually think it looks pretty good. maybe a tad underexposed which brings out some noise but hard to tell from that thumbnail.

    I think the noise level looks great for a 30 second shot The lights look a little weird (pixelated) in the full shot, it's probably just compression. But other than that the shot looks excellent.

    Can't see much noise there. Looks kinda underexposed with the noise hidden in the shadows with NR and camera shake hiding the rest.

    i think i figured this out, i think thre is something wrong with my color management in vista, i took a couple of hundred shots yesterday and look noisy on here but i put a few on the other computer which is hooked to a 42" plasma and there was no where near as much noise...
    looks like another vista color space issue
