    Proxy Ban

The UAE telecommunication believes in banning the website Flickr due to some indecent content....and its annoying as 50% of the pictures posted here are usually uploaded from Flickr and I can't view it...
I know this issue has been brought up before but now that thread is useless as all the links provided there have been blocked.
I don't want a proxy server site as most of them are blocked, I've tried. I need a ban-proof way to view flickr pictures...does anyone know how I can do that???

Become mates with the prince might work

    Sorry Faisal couldn't resist.

Do any of your real life contacts have ways around web censorship? Whatever they're doing may work with Flickr for you.

People I know who need to get around the proxy use torrents and P2P sharing. I seemed to be the only one who needs access to sites like Flickr.

Investigate the onion router... It will allow you some anonymity online, and I believe it will get you around these kinds of proxy bans.

Short of moving to a free county, I don't know that we can really help.

LOL! That really tickled my funny bone for some reason.

You might want to google around for the Onion Router software. Once you have it, you should be OK to go anywhere (which is why they are trying to stop you from getting it).

Or, another tool that can do the same thing is Hotspot shield from AnchorFree?

The government here announced they're investigating the idea of banning torrents. They're also wanting to give employers the right to read employees private email. I guess freedom's relative.

There's one way to stop employers reading private email - don't access it at work! Besides, reading your own personal email on your employer's coin is not really doing what you're paid for.

As far as torrents are concerned, I've never seen anything worth having on them - even the pirated stuff is pretty awful.
