    SD700 IS and SDHC cards

    Hello there for all, this is my first post here and I hope you can give me some advice..

    I have a new Canon SD700 IS/IXUS 800 IS and I want to buy some memory for it and I just want to ask if this model can take SDHC cards?

    you help is much needed, thanks

    I have the SD850. It will accept SDHC cards. Your camera probably came with Basic Camera User Guide. That book should tell you.

    The SD700 has the Digic-II chip, which I believe means that it doesn't support SDHC.

    If it doesn't take SDHC cards, what's the maximum SD capacity that I can get to work on my camera with ordinary SD and from what brands?

    Get any kingston or sandisk with 60x speed..upto 2Gb will work fine.

    thanks for the reply..but I already have a couple of 2GB cards but I was wondering if there is some ordinary SD (not SDHC) with higer capacity than 2GB?

    It is not advisable to use Sd cards above 2 GB capacity..may accidentally result
    in data lose ..check pm

    2G is the maximum fully supported size for SD. It is possible to make a 4G SD card, but they do so by playing some games with the address space. A 4G SD card may work in you camera, it may act like a 2G card, or it may seem to work fine until you lose all your photos. IMO, it's not worth the risk.

    thanks for the adice guys ..I hoped that I could have more than 2GB capacity on my camera..

    anyway I just wanted to ask why I am getting too much blur with indoor shots with this model although all the reviews I read before buying it said that the SD700 IS is superb in minimizaing blur indoor even without falsh??

    any tips would be appreciated..
