I think all the advice that is needed has been given, so I won't repeat it. But I did want to throw in a collage from the eclipse this winter.
The moon got harder and harder to shoot as the eclipse wore on, because it was darker, harder to focus on, and it required longer shutter speeds (but not too long, because its moving).
