My first ever action shots. C&C welcome
Never done this before. Action stuff is not normally my thing but i had HEAPS of fun doing these despite the weather. i sure picked the day for it. rain and gale force winds down at the 'Nulla.
pretty happy with the way they turned out given the conditions. some are cropped heavily, some are as shot. all needed a levels/ curves adjustment cos they were too flat.
will definately do this again. thanks to kiwi and TNB for the tips. C&C welcome. i;d really like to improve my action shots.

Using 51 point 3-D tracking?
The first three look really good, I like the sense of scale you get with the background and the third one with the wave.
The last two he does not seem to interact with the water, if you know what I mean. Just kind of going along for the ride. Although his expression of I am holding on for dear life is cool.
Very good first time action, is there nothing you can't do behind your camera or are you just rubbing our noses in it?

hmmm...very good point rich, never thought of that. actually, that holding on for dear life one is quite heavily cropped so i could get his expression, but you're right; it loses alot of atmosphere and context cropped so close. thanks.

Excellent Rooz!
I thought about who I am... and realized I was an
unformed, unreconciled imagery, without "GOD"
NikonD?
and some other Nikon stuff

now now....
We all know full well that Rooz didnt take these photos. The D300 did.
He merely took the camera out, set it on a tripod and whispered the following:
"gday" (what do you mean stereotype?)
"Now what i want you to do is have a looksy over there in the sea, yeah just there. Now i want you to shoot a few photos of him playing about with his kite. Yeah i agree, its pretty gusty out here, which is why i am off inside. give me a flash when you are done."
now own up Rooz.

.... I think I should invest in a D300 then...
hehe, great shots man, what lens were you using?
Nikon...

Good stuff Rooz. Only thing I would have done different is zoom in some more. What glass were you using?
