Compact digital camera AND headcam...is this possible?

I'm in the market for a new compact digital camera. Pretty much settled on the PowerShot 850 for a variety of reasons, mostly because it is small and takes good pictures. I run off-road motorcycle tours and it seems to be a good replacement for my Fuji.

I also want to set a video head cam for my helmet. I don't expect to take long videos so can I set up a head cam with the Canon (and use extra memory sticks) or do I really need a full on video camera?

I haven't seen one that will work with a still camera. Most are self-contained or plug into a video camera via the I/O ports.
