The only one I sent was the one in the POTD thread. The paper comes out on Wednesday so we will see.

We have three games to go and are second on the ladder. A couple of weeks after than Cricket practice starts again. I can see that something longer than 70mm will be very useful.

Love to see the kids faces, like that last shot.
They mean business on the field.

Tomorrow is my sons first soccer game at the same time my
daughters first cheerleading 40 miles away from each other.
Going to be a long two seasons.

I took some soccer photos last weekend. I was pretty far back in the stands but 300mm got me quite close.

I had upped the ISO to 400 and had shutter priority at 1/640 for most of the time. Bit disappointed with the outcome, although sharpness was quite good, all had too much noise when cropped to 100%. I figured iso 400 would help me with faster shutter speeds and I generally can go much higher in ISO on the D80 without noise, but for some reason noise appeared at this soccer game.

The two photos above were both ISO 400 @ 1/500 sec.
I'm surprised noise was a problem on a D80 at ISO400. can you post a sample.

I don't care where you're from this has gotta hurt. what I didn't post are the lead in pics to this. the keeper ran out, slipped and V ran around him, the keeper 'tried' to grab the ball at the same time V ran past and the keeper got his hand stepped on. V did score, after the goal, he and the keeper both shook hands because they knew it was an accident.

here is another from the same match. My kids room mate, in blue, is in a struggle with his opponent. he was able to get to the ball and kick it to a teammate. it was late afternoon and the sun was at the 3 oclock position from me.

    Wow, small world!
I know him, that's Justin in the blue shirt!

I was going to post some photos from the same soccer league but realized this is for Nikon.

It's good to see someone else from this small town posting here.
