    Soccer photos

I didn't want to clutter the Picture of the Day thread so here are a couple more from today. It was a day for physical stuff and facial expressions.

They are all D50, all Shutter priority 1/500 sec, all with the 55-200VR lens

Forgot about this thread, I like the concentration you captured in the third shot.
Not sure if kids can wear bloody clothes or not, but any active bleeding they are out
til it is covered and stopped. Shame, would make great laundry detergent ads.

K1W1, I love your shots. They have a quality that mine are missing ... I don't know really how you describe it, a crispness? punch? It seems like there's more detail, better whites, more to look at in the picture. I know that lighting and settings have a huge impact, but I'm starting to think it's my lens. I love the 300mm length for soccer, do you think the Nikon 70-300VR would be as good for soccer as your 55-200VR is?

    Tori,

When I used my Sigma 70-300APO for Soccer I had the same issues you do, very disappointing actually. I can't say anything about the 70-300VR but the 55-200VR beats the Sigma hands down.

Great shots. A little cc -- watch the backgrounds, capture as much face as you can and crop in close. Keep baning away...more photos to chose from better chance of getting that perfect one.
