Les, I like that re-do. Here is another idea to keep the depth of the shot while boosting certain areas. May be a little too surreal, but fun.

I don't know, that looks like it was drawn with a box of crayons

Agreed. Just a quick crop for depth effect as there wasn't much photo (96K pixels) to work with, and the right side of the image didn't add much to the shot. Like I said, a little surreal... or "drawn with a box of crayons" in this case. I'm sure that a much better job could be done working with the RAW image.

Had the opportunity to assist Zack Arias for a week in the first week of March. Didn't learn much from the lighting workshop but the street photography workshop was eye opening. Here's the first image I've managed to edit from one of the outings.

    Faisal,

I like the first one as a 'street' photo better. However, the image seems a bit too bright considering that the long shadows from the boxes make me believe it was well before or after midday sun.

    It's too quiet here...

It's been too quiet here in the Canon POTD thread... Here are a few contributions from me.

    1. A rather unsatisfied looking Woodhouse Toad

    2. American Bullfrog

    3. American Bullfrogs. Yes, it's posed.

    Thanks for looking.
