Droopy - I like it too.

Adam W - I love this one. Very "minimal-istic" - I bet that would look awesome printed big. I have been getting more into B&W's lately; there is something special about certain images in B&W, IMO.

Sorry, I'm having too much fun with "OE-ed" B&W pics At the moment. I promise to stop.

i;m enjoying the look you're playing around with. with that sort of shot in the hi contrast style, you're focus has to be PERFECT on the eye to pull it off imo.

    Thanks, Michael.

Drama--here's the original color version. I straightened and cropped a tiny bit, did some slight noise reduction and sharpening, and added a bit of contrast with curves. I'm not sure which version I like better. I think I like them each for different reasons. Your opinion?

just thought I'd chime in.. i love the pics you guys have been posting.

Here's one i took today at the Metairie Cemetary in New Orleans. It was a statue in one of the many beautiful above ground crypts.

Adam; tough one, I like them both.

Kevin V - I really like this one. The blue contrasts so well with the white and I love the blue shadow being cast upon the back of the Angel - wonderful lighting.

Here's one of my recent B&W conversions....

I like the color version a lot more, much better contrast & depth
The white bits of surf in the foreground, also need to go IMHO
    What do you think ?

    Droopy

Nice, love the focus on that expressive eye & the BW
Again the crop is a bit too close for my liking

If everyone had the same opinion, there would be no need for more than one comment

    Wow. What great shots!

Adam, I much prefer the color version. I love the smooth tones and the simplicity, but the color gives it just enough "oomph" IMO. I could look at that picture for a long time. Awesome.

Kevin, I love the blue in the window. And that statue is very interesting! Is the angel crying because her sister died? That seems un-angelic to me, I must be missing something. The lighting is beautiful as-is, but considering the pose of the angel, I wonder how it would look with more moody lighting, darker on the angel, maybe lit only from the window. Of course, I don't know if that's possible at that location.

Michael, that's a beautiful shot! I love the blackness of the boat in contrast with the sunbeams. I agree, a little more sky would be great, is this one cropped? or do you have another in the series with more "room?"

Nick, I like the colors in your shot. It makes me want a larger size so I can look closer at the center of the flower and admire the sharp focus there. I already know I like the DOF blurring the flower into the background.

    Great work Canonites
