I sold my 17-40 / 70-200 for a 24-70 2.8 and I am selling the 85 1.8 for the 100 2.8. I am still keeping my nifty fifty tho.
I guess I am keeping on the minimalist side nowadays, most of the time I'm renting the 70-200 2.8 IS but its way too expensive to buy.
I am looking at the 17 TSE, and i admit to missing the 17-40

Backlit bleeding hearts....
Sigma 105...

This is just wonderful. Colors, exposure, composition, bokeh--it all rocks.

Some bleeding hearts of my own. Not up to Michael's quality, but worth a post.

I often go out with just the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 and the Sigma 105 f/2.8 macro - lightweight and sharp combo. I know its blasphemy to say this but my Sigma 105 is very close in sharpness to my 135L! - and the bokeh is quite good as well.
The 17-40 is probably a lens I'll always have - its just hard to beat considering the price and range.
Love that soccer shot btw.
