    Its the same photo twice with different values, overlap and blend the two.

    Its very simple version of HDR photos, split-exposure is a earlier version from the film days where you couldn't really mix that many exposures.

    Ah, reminds me of cardboard and movement to try and get the blend right...

    yeah, this. what I really like about it over HDR is how simple it is. I mean, what you see is what you get.

    All of the Pictures were taken with a Canon XSI or 40D. 18-55mm IS and 17-55mm 2.8. Very few were taken with a Canon S410 or SD850
