Recently had a shoot with Gaby to show off some of her new digs and so I could use the new 17-55 F2.8 IS and 50D together in a real shooting situation. I wrestled for a while with which picture to post from the set and finally decided on this one. The rest are up on Flickr, DA or myspace.

    23mm, 1/125s F3.5 ISO 400, window light only.

I know there are a ouple small things i can do to make it better, such as getting rid of the pillow tag in the background, plus her facial expression, but the face expression won't change untiil she gets her braces removed this summer.

    And for Xbox fans...

We're going to have some competition soon!

    55mm 1/100s, F2.8 ISO 400, window light.
That's Madison and she loves Xbox accessories.

Anyway, just dropping by to show i'm still alive!

    ~Cory

PS: i also know Gaby's nose is a little burnt in each picture and i'm not sure what I could do about it while taking the icture to get rid of that. I could increase the shutter a hair or drop the ISO a hair but that made the shadows too dark and her skin too dark for my taste... thoughts???

Hey Cory! I like the shallow DoF in that one. The blurriness adds a sense of semi-mystery to her being semi-clothed. And Gaby is--as usual--smokin'. And since I don't have an Xbox, my first thought seeing Madison was, "Customer service call center"!

Drama, i simply Love that picture. I'd copyright it and see if anyone would use it as a book cover or something that picture is amazing. (If i were you.)

Totally makes me think of Pan's Labyrinth, and i very much loved that movie.

Adam: Customer service... or "This is major Tom to ground control..."

    Hey You, Watch this!

    1/250s, F4, ISO 200, 150mm

I gotta say, Polar Bears look a lot different in person than I'd imagined from watching Discovery Channel and Nat Geo... I was kind of taken aback by it.

Adam: She's my best friend's little brother's daughter... and she's adorable and much like every child- a huge brat. Anyimte she's over at Mike's she goes straight for the Xbox stuff and says "Play!?"
