It is, using the exposure blend tool in Photomatix (not the tone mapping feature). I find it produces more natural results.

Thanks, it wasn't much of a waterfall to work with. You'd think that in the state with the longest amount of total water ways that there would be some decent waterfalls, but there's not much.

The quality of posts here is amazing. I'm nursing a long-standing passion for photography, and am now willing (read: able) to invest in a starter DSLR - aiming for the XSi (which comes with the 18-55 IS), and would love to get recommendations on another lens I should buy. Is it the EF 50mm f/1.8, 55-250mm IS or the 70-300mm IS?

Recently toyed around with a borrowed XTi, and grabbed this one. Doesn't even come remotely close to the talent displayed here, but am hoping I can learn quickly. Would absolutely love your feedback.

Nah, thats better then human eyes, that woulda been either too bright or too dark.

I probably would be wearing some ND 2stops at that point. (Sunglasses)

Not to mention i find the smooth motion of the trees and water awesome. (1s shutter, my eyes still do somewhere around 60fps last i checked :P)

    Gone tomorrow - wonderful shot.

    Fiip - very nice.

ZoicX - you should be proud of that one - how much of a crop is this?
