Getting this shot exhibited at a local photo event under the banner of a local photograpy website. The event is where professional big shot photographers come from all over the world and give short classes on the various aspects of photography at exuberant prices. It's a seven day event I think. Just need to get it printed A1/A3 size, mounted and delivered...(any advice on printing is welcome)

It was a shot from my Dubai to London flight.....

So much so that within 5 minutes of receiving the print in the mail, I was in the car and on my way to the nearest pro photolab, with print and laptop in hand. I held the print up to their screen and it wasn't THAT far off. Maybe 1/2 stop darker, my Mac was in another world! So we tweaked the levels on the Lab PC to match my screen, and it's going to print again today. I got home yesterday, did some research and have ordered a Spyder3Elite I would have loved a Colormunki Photo, but it's out of my price range at the moment, too many new toys as it is! I'm sure this will pull the laptop screen into a closer range anyway.

Finger's crossed the print is closer this time!
yea, calibrating with Spyder is probably one of the best photography decisions I've made.

Faisal, any way you can clone out the wing? That would make it KILLER.

Faisal - awesome shot! I've never even thought to turn the camera on mid-flight!

Michael - Reassuring to know that the Spyder worked for you. Nice shot too BTW.

some stuff of recent, all with the 50mm..
the thing I've noticed is that the 450D doesn't focus entirely on the subject, it seems to either stop short a little or too far...and I don't notice it until afterwards on the PC.

when there is a good strong light on the subject (like in the black and white) then its alright but when the light is a little soft then it errs.

sometimes I like the effect but for the most part, and when it comes to weddings, I prefer to have it tack sharp.
