    way back I had to hand sand a mahogany bench with really nice engraving down and refinish it. Truly was a painstaking job. I had that dust in my lungs for weeks. Your shot brings me right back....

    We have a lot of those out here, they are built for access to the ground, 3 reasons I can think of. 1, mine shaft entrance. 2, root cellar (bury your potatoes and carrots in there to keep all winter) 3, housing. Some people lived in dugouts for warmth in the winter and cool summers. That one looks too small even for a dugout cabin though.
