    Thanks guys. I viewed Marc Adamus' work on another site(look him up he's great)and decided to re visit my Glacier NP trip from last year. I did a little HDR and some burning and dodging in LR trying to get somewhere near what Marc does. I failed to approach anywhere near Marc's work, but managed to rescue that particular photo from the garbage pile.
    A good photograph is knowing where to stand.

    ISO 12800, 200mm 2.8



    Popphoto said ISO 12800 was unusable but it's actually not too bad in sRAW.

    Oh and that's 1/50 hand held braced by the couch at 200mm. AF on the 50D is very nice compared to the 20D.

    I'd say that's usable. It looks like more of a banding than noisiness.
