Faisal - cool shot.
Phys - that flower shot doesn't seem very sharp to my eyes - ? not enough DOF, camera shake or focus a bit off perhaps.
This is basically straight out of the camera (cropped a little, no other PP)...24-105, f/10...(you know I have a thing for apple orchards, don't you? )...

44mm, 1/40 - The general rule of thumb is 1/(1.6XFL) for 1.6X crop cams, so you should have a SS of about 1/80 if hand-held.
Keep in mind however that if you have very steady hands you might be able to hand-hold at lower SS's, but its a good rule of thumb. Also, at 1/40 don't forget about subject movement (wind blowing flowers ).
Keep posting and learning - that's what its all about.

I absolutely agree about the 1/1.6xFL rule of thumb, but isn't 1/1.6x40 actually 1/64? Perhaps you wrote 1/80 because 1/64 isn't a standard available shutter speed? If I was feeling particularly stable that day, I might go with 1/60
