regarding the EXIF on the tulip shot..

oh the lighting was just the 580EX + diffuser.

lol... thanks Mr. ROOZ for pointing that out.. I checked back at the picture set and I *think* I took the pic at my sister's place, she has some nice overhead track lighting... if any of you remember the kiwi shot from several weeks ago, that was taken at the same time and setting..

hey well since you asked.. here is the original, as-shot... I found the chair in the background to be distracting.. and then just decided to black out the entire background..
taken with my first lens, the 24-105... boy do I wish I would have kept it.

Nice PP job on the background.

I sometimes wish it was f/2.8, but the 24-105 is a nice lens; it surprises me how sharp it is, even wide open.

I sometimes wish it was f/2.8, but the 24-105 is a nice lens; it surprises me how sharp it is, even wide open.

one of the BIG advantages of the 24-105 for me (specifically in comparison to the 24-70) is its light weight. I also miss the IS.
