Canon DSLR "Picture of the day"

Here is one of my recent ones. Just playing with my new 50mm 1.8 lens, and my glass candle holders.



I'm loving the camera so far, but it is quite the learning curve. I knew it wasn't going to be easy to get going but I'm still trucking along taking pictures of whatever I can that will allow for me to play with the functions of the camera. 600 down and <10 keepers, I'll get there one day

This one I'm particularly proud of. I took it with a Sigma 17-70 @ 17mm. The only problem is when I turn up the "recovery" and "fill light" to bring out the clouds and foreground, the bridge gets a drastically "oversharpened" look.

This is is sweet... The rays are perfect

What ISO were you shooting at....cause I see noise...its either the picture or my laptop screen....

Plus try bumping up the Saturation and contrast in the camera....

I forgot and left it at iso200 when I took the shot Plus I resized the original file to 50% before uploading to Pbase, and then Pbase resized it some more

I pretty much took the shot with the camera right out of the box. I latter on played around and got familiar with the menus and user definable settings So far I'm loving it. One thing that does stand out is the grip on my S3 is way more comfortable than the XSi ... LMAO!!!
