Adam, the recent shots seem like they could use a bit more contrast. Especially the 2nd most recent one you posted.
More from Labor Day weekend...

Thanks for the feedback, Lukas. I've switched to Lightroom from Photoshop, and I'm still not as proficient as I'd like. That, and I think my monitor is finally reaching the end of it's life.
Where did you take that waterfall pic?

It's Mossbrae Falls in Dunsmuir, CA. The falls are much larger than what's shown in this photo. It's tough to capture the whole thing

LR could never replace PS for me, but i don't see such a huge difference in contrasts between LR/PS/, so i'm leaning towards your monitor.

Some from me, theres more over here : http://case-photo.blogspot.com/2011/...sics.html#more As well as a speed photoshop video if anyone is into that sort of thing.

I meant the difference was in my being used to the interface. I had processing down to a habit in ACR/Photoshop. Now I'm learning a new(ish) interface.
I just bought a new camera a few months ago, so I'll have to wait until the spring to get a new computer. But even before this I noticed that almost doubling the file size of photos (from 10 to 18 mpix) really makes my 5 year old Macbook Pro seem slow. But considering the age and amount of use it gets, this computer and its monitor have been great.

Hehehe better, one of the things that bothered me the most with LR is how Canon's RAWs don't have their subtle colors like they would out of DPP.
I did a DPP convert to jpg, then a LR convert to jpg from the same RAW and i liked much better the DPP version. I did get a colorchecker passport i've been meaning to try out and profile my cameras so i can get the same results in LR, i've also tried beta profiles, its never quite the same.
But this is old stuff and the time LR can save one for DP is amazing.
