A good photograph is knowing where to stand.

Its a good thing.
One of the things i want to do when i get some free time is find two standardized test images (1 from the 1ds2, 1from the 5dmk2) and see if i can make a picturestyle to mimick the 1ds2 on the 5d2.

I've found that with good light the 1dsII is as good as any body I've used. I am still in the learning stages with it, but so far I've been impressed, and frustrated by it, mostly impressed.

What has frustrated you?
The only reason i sold mine was firewire/high isos.
From all the cameras i've owned, the 1ds2 had a almost beautiful film feel to the images which i loved.
It will very very likely be my 2nd camera.

It doesn't like HDR too well. It tends to get pretty noisy when combining frames, especially underexposed frames. I am learning to work around this, I had the same problem with my 5D only not nearly so often or as noticeable. I am forcing myself back to GND filters because I think that overall, HDR is easily overdone and very hard to get to look natural.
I have had a little trouble getting used to the metering too. It seems a little less forgiving than the 5D is. Maybe it's just me. I'm getting used to it. My other body started Err 99ing on me and so I had to work with just the 1Ds. I am pretty happy with the results.
I think it's almost up to par with my 5DC for high ISO, and the noise is more film like. The noise cleans up pretty well, I am generally happy.
I love the size of the body and the robust feel. I though it was HUGE and heavy when I first pulled it out of the box, but after using it for a couple of months the 5D seems small and overly lightweight.
