Actually I went with the 5d2, but I'm still not convinced I made the right decision.
I had a difficult time deciding between the 7d and 5d2, but the 40D does everything I need in a 1.6X crop camera, whereas the 5d2 improves upon several things that I didn't like about the 5d.
The main thing that was holding me from getting the 5d2 was what Canon did (or rather didn't do) with the AF system. I've only had the 5d2 for a few days, but surprisingly it feels much more responsive and the shot to shot time seems faster than with the 5d. Its still no sports camera, but I'm much happier with the responsiveness of this camera compared with my old 5d. So far I'm loving it, but I'm still in the Honeymoon periord.
And I love the live view for shots like this.....
5d2, 17-40, ND grad, 2 stop ND grad....(12 degrees F, not including the windchill factor - I couldn't feel my fingers for about 30 minutes after this shot )....
Great image. I like the POV

Nice shot Elisha. I think the left shoulder should be in focus.
