Well, I'm working some 12-14 hour shifts the next few days at night, so by the time I have a day off, the cards will be here and I'll have time to shoot...
I haven't let go of the XSi yet!

michaelb,
Been lurking here for a while before I registered: I always find your landscape shots (or other shots) impressive!
Was it taken with your 5D or 40D?

Hah.. mmmm... what focus issues did you have with your XSi? Does 'hunting in low light' lenses count? I don't remember having many problems with XSi - although my standard might be very low

In the middle of the day, no less! It consistently front focuses (when it does decide to miss) even if you're dead on the subject and there's NOTHING in front of it to front focus on.

example of a shot on tripod... focus confirmed in VF, high shutter speed, looks sharp to my eye when I looked, but the photo came out like this (cropped to middle of photo). There was nothing in front of it, center point was used, but the camera still front focused (confirmed by bottom right powerlines more in focus). Nothing could explain it... there are plenty of complaints, google front focus xsi, but most people dont' have problems. Someone somewhere on dpreview noticed that the mirror return on the shutter isn't always exact.

Thanks guys, that was with the 5D. I used the ND grad tool in LR2 to bring down the sky (love that tool), plus a little "dodging and burning" with the local adjustment brush, also in LR2. Taken hand-held.
