A little something I cooked up tonight. Shot with my 85mm 1.8 with an extension tube. Shot against my living room wall. The background was created with a coloured gel on my 430 shot against the wall. 580 EX lit the spark plug. I was able to get it off camera with my wired off shoe cord thing. I suspended the plug in air with a piece of thread and PSed the thread out in PP. A little sharpening and that's it.

C and C encouraged.

Family
One from me after a long time...
This is my sister's family.. shot this photo from a fast moving overhead train in a theme park. I, along with my wife and son were seated in the boggy in front of them. I set the camera to continuous shooting, 1/200 in AV mode, flipped open the flash for some fill (as I would be shooting against the sky) and fired 5-6 shots from over my head with the camera upside down without even looking what I was shooting This one came out the best... Love the gay abandon and sheer happiness on their faces
Family

Processed this as B/W as I didn't want the bright colors in the background to distract the viewers from their rich facial expressions. Added some noise and vignette to give it the old film look

@nick that shot looks cool, from the looks of it the flash is to the left, might want to try to get some sort of light in from the left to remove some of those harsh shadows, but thats up to you and the effect your going for.

Nick - Cool work with the gels, I've been meaning to play with flash more too..... Now that I've got all of my strobes with me
Viky - I love the genuine happiness on their faces, great pic!
I went for a walk today and although it was pretty cold, for Taiwan standards, I managed to get a few pics. Here are a couple quick ones. C&C please

Nick...I like the lighting on that shot, irrespective of the harsh shadows....
Viky....nice fluke shot...
Zmikers...the second one is a typical far east shot...which isn't a bad thing but makes it uninteresting for me especially when it's right after a beautiful shot of a bird...
Saw a dozen labourers struggling to move this box so I ran back inside, grabbed my camera and clicked away!!!

Happy new year everyone!!!
So my new years resolution was to successfully complete a self portrait for 365 days. I'm on day 10 and doing well actually
Here is one of my favs. I really like it because I have been finding it really difficult to work night shifts lately. Usually I work them with no issue but now they leave me exhausted and yearning for more sleep and thats what the pic shows
I'm also playing around a bit more with lighting. In this shot the only light source is the lamp, all curtains were closed and it was actually quite dark!
