I agree with Nick. You are officially the hottest person on DCRP I would disagree wth your opinion on selfs, especially if they are of "the hottest person on DCRP"
Now, back to those pesky self portraits.
Do you have a tripod? You could get a ton of different shots with one I should think.

This is the neighbors dog before we rescued her. She is such a sweet heart. The people across the street pretty much abandoned her so we fed and watered here for 2 weeks. We found her a home and she is now our vets office mascot.

I do have a tripod but I think my 40D is to heavy for it. I bought it originally for my S3 and now when I use it I can't get the head of it to sit straight, it goes past horizontal if that makes sense. So I have to adjust the legs to balance out the issue....which is uber frustrating Guess that means a new tripod sooner vs. later
Finally got my first dslr, the Canon XSi, and took some photos at Lake Compounce, CT
Nice perspective with this shot, I like it. Congrats on the new camera

I recently bought a Manfrotto tripod, I love it. It's a carbon fiber, but I wouldn't necessarily spend that much, it just worked for me.
