These links are the railing at the edge of Lake Ontario in Burlington. They are just the coolest, and I had to put something on them to give them scale. What better than the hand of a child?

Touring the backyard, seems there's some pesky critters back there... (and my first contribution to the thread)
40D, 70-200mm f/4L IS @ f/5.6, 1/1000s, iso 100.
Shadow on it is probably harsh, still learning though...

Nate - Cute shot but to be honest I have always been a little freaked out by gnomes LOL! You could reduce the shadow by using a small reflector and/or some fill flash.
