Regarding exposure, for this shot I left it open for as long as I can without inducing blur, since I didn't have a tripod.. I was balancing it on the ledge of a bridge. This is NOT the optimal way to do this, but I had no choice, I was just driving by and saw the shot and happened to have my cam handy. But no tripod.
Thanks for the explanation delobbo. Even more impressive without a tripod!!

hah - I shoot without tripod probably 95% of the time.. if I had a really nice one I would probably use it more often - but I have a Slik that is OK. It's not even mine, borrowed it from the ol' man. And also I find tripods to be cumbersome and furthermore most of the shooting I do is spontaneous. Not really at the point where I need to plan shoots such as this.

    Viky, amazing shot, love it.

Michael, Nick, I wish FF because if I buy 70-200L or 24-70L lenses I want to take full advantage of their focal range, which obviously is not the case with cropped sensor. Surely one can stick to EFS lenses but the collection of them is not big enough, they cost nearly the same as L lenses except for kit lens and the make quality is inferior. Plus I wish I can take night shots of the city and interior images for which ISO performance is crucial. You can PP of course but the cleaner the image the less you cut on details IMHO.

I also prefer to buy new technology if that means quality. I tested 5D and 40D in shop and in conclusion 40D was more responsive and handling it I felt more comfortable. But 40D is not FF...And, sometimes you need a pop flash for simple situations where you would not carry a proper flash, and this 5D lacks. But big issue of FF for me that I can use lenses as they are designed… would not you agree to my point?

Yea, but you are assuming this is the best way to use lenses. Using a crop sensor you are avoiding the edges of EF lenses, where they tend to be the softest. Plus, my 85 1.8 gives me great reach and speed on the 40D, something I can't get with the 5D unless I get the $900 135L. There are advantages to crop and advantages to FF. What I would love to see is a dSLR that somehow would have both a 1.6X crop and FF sensor.
