you asked some questions....

1. I don't not like it. But, my feeling about it is a neutral one.

2. First off, I don't know what I'm looking at so I can't relate with it - 2ndly, there isn't much content, it's more of the type of thing you would see as a wallpaper or background. It's an abstract feeling that doesn't make me think positively or negatively about it.

3. a countertop.

now i know, why i've got so little response to this photo

its because people cant relate to it or guess what this might be...and it just looks like an abstract background...

now, would your interest levels jump up if i told you that its actually a shot of rain drops

i don't think any body could have ever guessed correctly..

it was raining heavily that night and i wanted to see if i could capture rain... so i took a no of shots with my 430ex out of my window... but since there was nothing to focus on, i took a no of shots with manual focus at different positions... and one of them came out like this

there's very little PP in this... i just boosted vibrance & saturation and added a little USM

I took this last winter when the dogs were playing in a nearby field. My dog is Seamus, he's a Standard Poodle chasing Rascal the Border Collie.
It was a quick from the hip shot with my XTi, I don't have a clue what settings were used. All I know is I used a Sigma 18-200 OS lens, it was about @18mm

Yeah I would have never guessed it was raindrops, just because of the colors! Crazy you got those colors to show up - definitely something worth sharing! This shot, if combined with a description of how it was captured and what it is (like you explained above), all of a sudden is more appealing and now I can look at the picture and wonder where the colors came from,, how you were able to capture those colors and the shot, things like that. Sadly, the mind typically has difficulty straying "outside of the box" for things such as this, and that's another reason why this shot is tough to swallow, on its face.

gary...not sure this works mate. the angle, colour and shape kinda looks like...well you know...like you need a pooper scooper. lol

Yeah I would have never guessed it was raindrops, just because of the colors! Crazy you got those colors to show up - definitely something worth sharing! This shot, if combined with a description of how it was captured and what it is (like you explained above), all of a sudden is more appealing and now I can look at the picture and wonder where the colors came from,, how you were able to capture those colors and the shot, things like that. I was surprised to see all the different colors too and had no idea where they came from.. one possible explanation could be the refraction of the direct flash light through the numerous rain drops.. the same effect that produces rainbows. If u notice carefully, it shows the same colors too..Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange & Red (VIBGYOR)!

Viky, I don't find it interesting (I'm not much into abstracts), but it would make a great desktop background. I've looked at it a few times, and I still can't see that its rain!

hows the exposure on this? I feel like it might be too dark.. but after looking at so many pics your eyes start to kinda go numb... lol. would be nice to get some opinions.
