Thanks toriaj and michaelb. Appreciate the compliments. And yes, am buying a tripod pretty soon.
The sunsets are at Venice Beach, CA - totally unplanned shoot. Looks like I'm leaning towards framing the second pic - should have waited a tad bit to acheive perfect symmetry. You can see the light escaping from the front (stern, bow, blah, whatever) of the boat. Rookie mistake: too trigger-friendly.
Hey guys....this is my current fav picture from the grand canyon this summer...I hadn't even realized I took it, but I saw it coming in my "my pictures" screensaver & really liked it. What do you think?
(also, this is the first time I uploaded a pic to this forum & I wasnt sure how to make it the right size...so any tips for that would help too. Thanks!)
I really love this shot money...
I especially like how the wide angle shows the entire tree rather than a cropped piece of it. I just wish I didn't have to scroll to see all of the photo.
I hiked down S. Kaibab Trail to Cedar Ridge (about 1 1/2 miles down) and snapped this one around 7 am, before turning back. (already over 80 degrees by then too!!....too bad you can't photograph the heat!)
Thanks, that's where I thought it was. I would love to have these temperatures at the the moment, thought!
Nothing special...just thought shows off the Sigma 18-200mm DC OS nicely...
Model = Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT
Exposure Time = 1/100"
F Number = F6.3
Exposure Program = Aperture priority
ISO Speed Ratings = 400
Metering Mode = Pattern
Flash = Flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode
Focal Length = 42mm
Color Space = sRGB
I like the exposure, colours & symmetry of this shot... also agree with drama that the shot would look better with bottom horizontal platform cropped off.
I'm wondering what are those grains just above the dome?
You first see a photo with your mind, and then capture it with your camera!
