    P&S video?

I love my DSLR, but when I am with my friends , I don't feel comfortable using my DSLR around them.
I am looking for a small camera (not an ultracomact), and not anything too expensive (under $400 CDN). The most important feature I am looking for is video. I am looking for a one that has at least 640 x 480 video, 30 fps and can go until the memory card if full. I do not care too much about the camera features (I will be using this with friends, not instead of my DSLR). Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks, Hengy

Many cameras can do that, so you might want to give is a little more to work with. How much video do you want to store? All the Canons will shoot 640x480 @ 30fps but they are limited to 4G file size, which works out to 32 minutes of video. Canon videos will be much larger then some other cameras which use different codecs.

Can you fill out the questionnaire up top of this forum so we can recommend something for you?

Of all the cameras ive used for video i have to say the Kodak v705 (or v570 if you can still find one) is the best overall. Its small, light, has excellent audio and video.

    David,
I have looked long (not too long) and hard, but can't find the questionnaire you speak of. Sorry.

    ReG_00,
I will check this camera out! My first impression just by looking at it (I know, don't judge a book by its cover) is that it is a rather old camera, if I remember correctly. I remember this coming out over half a year ago? Despite this though, I will check it out. Plus, it will be cheaper now !

    Thanks,
    Hengy

The v570 came out last year, the v705 came out in Feb of this year so its not old. Another big feature about it is the wideangle lens really comes in hand with video more then one would think.

It's in the "What camera should I buy?" forum, which is where this thread should be as well.

Why wouldn't you get a camcorder that can do photo stills? After all, you did mention that most important features you want is video...
