Exclamation which adapter ring size for filters, S3 SI

I need to know the adapter ring size to thread filters.
I bought 3 52mm filters that don't fit, so what size is it...I'm a hurry to know cause I'm going for a long vacation

You realize you have to have an adapter for filters? You can't just stick them on the end of the lens. It's not threaded. Go to www.lensmateonline.com and order the adapter.

Why not just get a 52mm adapter so you don't have to buy new filters?

    ...

you did read the details of the product you bought, right? fits 58MM wide angle, telephotos lenses amd filters.. And you just said you bought 3 52MM filters... and asked what size you need... so.. getting the picture?

take prior advice and go to lensmate.com and order the correct size adapter. 52mm filters are cheaper than 58mm anyway.

Well, that would be about $60 with shipping included, which is a little too much for a lens converter.
I will have to buy step down converter 58-52mm now...I just hope it works.

Exactly how do you get $60 out of $31.95?:

    Canon S2/ S3 52mm - $24.95

    Shipping Type Shipping Total
    USPS Priority/US ** $31.95

Grip.. he may not be state side.

Olphus: yes, a step down ring will work. but at full wide you *may* experience slight vignetting. just zoom in a little bit and the vignetting will go away.

I didn't think about that. I just assumed since he posted an amazon.com link (as they have a site for pretty much every country) he was. The vignetting was the only reason I said something, as obviously step down rings add extra length, and the 37mm is anything but wide angle as it is. Hopefully it works out for him.

OK, I went and cancelled my order - have not recived a reply though.
I will go with the lensmate 52mm instead.

I'm also buying a polarizer filter - so what's the difference between linear and circular..will the circular allow me greater control by turning it??
