    Exclamation Only half-focused?

    Hi,

Has anyone encountered the following problem?

It appears that my S3 IS is only correctly focusing the left-hand half of some of my pictures. It seems to happen more in fairly low light conditions.

Here's an example. You will notice that the guy on the left is in focus, but not the guy on the right, even though they are both at more or less the same position depth-wise with regard to the camera.

Is such a thing possible, with regard to the physics/electronics of digital cameras? I have a lens protector on it, which I suppose could spoil the focus, but it doesn't seem dirty, and neither does the lens itself.

    Thanks.

    Regards, Dominic

Try it on a brick wall or something that does not move and use a tripod. Then you should be able to tell if there is something wrong with the camera or if it is motion blur.

In low light, you're more than likely using a low aperature. The lower the number, the less will be in focus. Using a higher f stop with flash will produce better results when trying to get a large area in focus.

The Digic III processors are better, and are smarter than the Digic II, and will retain focus on more than one subject, and is overall more accurate.
I have a camera. It takes pictures.
