    Sony Cyber-shot DSCS650 versus Panasonic DMCLS70

    Hi,

I recently purchased a Sony style Cyber-shot DSC-S650 and it's alright but today I saw a Panasonic DMCLS70 and the salesperson said the lens is better.

Does anyone know about these two products? I'm leaning towards getting getting the Panasonic one since it has more features but wondered if the Sony was better. What does the Panasonic have that the Sony doesn't?

    Thanks,

    S.

    Sony vs Panasonic

I'm answering this myself. Went and got the Panasonic and it shoots bad photos and has no sound for recording. My advice if between these two would be the Sony, it's much better quality and has sound with video.

Yes I'd say the Sony S650 is better, but does it have a viewfinder? For a cheap small one how about the Canon A460, A530/A540 or A550/560? They have a VF, 4x zoom, and use SD.

    Sony DSC-S650 versus Panasonic DMC-L70

    Bascom,

No, the Sony has no viewfinder and I'm finding that models under $200.00 don't seem to unless you consider the Kodak Easyshare C653. I don't know much about Kodak though. Is a viewfinder really necessary though? I find I didn't use the one on my last camera.

    Thanks for your input.

I use the VF sometimes, espec outdoors, but it sounds like you don't need one.
