    First time conversions

    The first one is the same shot, three different ways. I couldn't decide which looked better.







    And this one I just liked....



    Opinions/comments. I'm a newbie at this, so I'll take advice.

    The third in the top series is the best of that lot to me. Still might be a hair overexposed in spots, looks like the sun was high.

    The last is really nice, I did recrop to move the pathway out of the center, see what you think.

    I agree, the third one is best. The contrast in the other two is a bit too harsh in my opinion.
    The last shot is very nice. I like the perspective.

    #3 looks a little flat to me.

    Yes the sun was high. I appreciate the comments so far. I have wondered just how much is technical vs eye of the beholder.

    Well - just to agree with rooz about the eye of the beholder - I will disagree with rooz over preference!!
    I like the #1 best - looks natural which is what I like, #3 second, and #2 last as it's too contrasty and vivid for my taste BUT it is purely down to personal choice. They are all good interpretations of the shot.

    i like 3,good range of hightlights shadows and midtones.
    its a boring view to me tho, i woulda laid on the ground getting the little bridge looking weird,thats just me.
