Best Camera for Close ups?

My friend who is a gem dealer asked me to find a camera for him that would be good for taking close up pictures of gems so you can see the brilliance and detail in the pictures of each gem. Any suggestions on a camera that would be good for this? Price, brand, features not are not a concern.

I think Canon G7 and A630 take good close-ups. Fuji F30.
