Just got a new tripod today, the Manfrotto 190XproB + 484RC2 ballhead. Shame i wont have time to try it properly before next weekend but so far it seems like an excellent tripod. The 90 degree center column feels pretty good too.

    Few pics.

Haven't posted in forever. Enjoyed the animal pictures a LOT!

My DD helping me make bread:

Does the chipped nail polish take away from the picture, or add to it?

    50mm lens:

My older DD (who is mad at me, and won't look at the camera or smile):

(I love how sharp the 50 mm lens is!)

    Thanks for looking.

    mugsisme,
That last shot is amazing! I'm looking in to getting a 50mm lens myself (waiting for the Sigma 50mm f1.4 HSM). I've also wondered if I should just get the Nikon version (which I know will not autofocus on the D40) but taking my time to really decide. I'm assuming all those shots were MF?

Yeah. I find that if the day doesn't have too much action, I can handle the MF. I had a few with the baby in a sandbox where a few of them were wicked out of focus. But over all, most of my shots today were nice. Did Sigma say they were coming out with a 50mm lens? Sometimes I love this little baby. You should just play around with one in a store, and see what you want. I would assume that a Sigma lens would cost probably about 4x as much as this one, if the other lenses are any examples.

Xalio, she is #3 teen (at the same time), so I sort of know that now she will hate me for the next 7 years. :-( Oh well. At least they don't stay teens for ever.
