    First Dslr

I am getting my first dslr soon, and need some help.

I want to get a Canon 350d Rebel XT. I was wondering if you guys think I should get it with the kit lens, or should I get the body only and get a better lens. I am trying to keep the whole cost under $700.

I am going to be taking photographs of many different things. Landscapes, buildings, people, cars, random objects, etc. If I had to choose one thing to photograph, I would probably be cars. Standing still in nice environments or driving shots, so I guess I will need a lens that can take some action shots?

If I get the body only, what lens do you guys recommend for the XT?

This is a little off topic, but I was also wondering what the difference between telephoto and macro is? I know macro is way close up pictures, but I'm not sure what telephoto is. Is telephoto just when you are farther back from your subject?

Oh and another random request, if any of you know any good photography classes in the Northern VA / DC area, let me know.
