What 2 lenses for Rose Parade?

We'll be in the bleachers. We have parking nearby (My sister's work is on parade route and she gets tickets each year).

I only want to carry 2 lenses. It's such a festival I'd really like the 10-22 for great people shots.

If you had my choices, what would you bring? Thanks.

You have too many choices :-) The Sigma 70-300 seems like the "other" complementary candidate - plus it's the only one I have experience with ...

    Got a spare ticket?
    Pentax K20D/K5/15/21/40/70/10-17/12-24, Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5/150-500, Tamron 90 Macro/70-200 2.8, Canon SX20 IS/Elph 500HS

Thanks ... frankly I'm not sure I even know where that one is. You have a point that, given all the light, I'll be using f8 all day so IQ would be improved, but I should have narrowed it down as I haven't used that lens more than 3 or 4 times due to poor IQ on my copy.

Ticket? It's more of a parking pass. We're leaving from my sister's in La Crescenta at 5AM.

Well, then, the 70-200L and a monopod :-)

I had a bit better success with the Sigma at 300mm when I bumped the sharpness up a couple notches. You can't expect miracles from a $219 "budget zoom". It seemed to help the other lenses as well, of course, so that's where I keep it set (though now I'm shooting RAW, and maybe that helps more).

Have fun at the parade - I may try to make it one year.

    That's quite a gap but I think you've got it. I'll post a couple.
