Something wrong with my camera

Maybe this isnt the place to ask but it seems you guys are experience with
camera.

Anyways I have a Fuji Finepix F401 (4yrs old).
This weekend (xmas of all times!!!) it decide to not work!!!
I think it maybe the CCD sensor??
The LCD monitor is just totally white and when I try taking a picture
its just bunch of line (I'll attach a photo).
So I am right, is it the ccd sensor?
Is it fixable....?
Should I just get a new camera?

It could be the CCD, or it could be any number of other things inside your camera. Most likely, it is not practical or economical to fix. Besides, there are much better cameras on the market today for much less money.

thats a CCD issue
if you cam carries a 2/3" Sony sensor, have a chat with the local Sony people. They should replace it free because there has been found to be a QC issue with those sensor sizes.

I didn't think this camera used the Sony chip, mea culpa. If so, Riley is correct that you may get a free replacement. With this camera, I'd try to get a discount off a new model rather then a refurbished or repaired version at this point.

its not really a dealer issue
you have to talk with the importer aka fuji

other makers are having the same issues with some 2/3" sensors that i believe are sony supplied. sony has a recall on at the moment
leica is repairing for free, out of warranty digilux 2 with sensor issues

According to this link the Fuji F401 is not part of the recall. The F410 is. Did you mistype the name?

If your camera is not on the list you are probably out of luck getting any repair or compensation.

I went to bestbuy today and they said it was the CCD and since the warranty ran out I opted to buy a new camera instead.....Canon SD700IS!
I was due for a new camera anyways, although I really loved my Fuji

Time to play with my new one!!
