It's a problem with all cameras at small f -stops. Your S6500 is limited to F11 by Fuji because of it.

I try to keep my S6000 between f4 and f5.6 if at all possible for maximum sharpness.

I like the second one. Is it photoshoped in the same way like the third one?

    s6500fd newbie, first macro pic

Just got my new s6500fd and tried my first fun macro pic...

    Straight from camera, no PP

    f10.0
    6.2mm focus
    ISO100

Not having much luck with indoor people shots yet though, getting lots of paper-white faces from flash (thought iFlash was supposed to take care of that! oh well, maybe I need some kind of diffuser.)

No, the second was shooted to raw, and only adjusted colors and levels in ACR, and the third one was two layers, where the top one was B&W with removed region to see through. Then I've applied some lens blur.

Very recent shots these are,no pp just out of the box,all exif datas are there.
I would like to have comments from members on the quality of the shots here so dont hesitate to comments.I was little busy recently so could not post here. The way this thread of Paul is shaping up its a real fun to see how great snaps this camera can take.here I go---

Here´s a few macros of mineral specimens i recently took using my s6500fd and a Raynox DCR-250. They are also focus stacked with CombineZM.

Nice shots Per, I especially like the 2nd one. I'm not sure, but it almost looks like .jpg artifacts ended up in the last shot but it could be light reflection. Nice nonetheless.
    Welcome to the boards btw.
