Sun is just over the horizon in this shot. There was a slight gap between the horizon and the clouds. I even managed to get this without lens flare across the shot. There is a bit of it but it's all centered on the sun so it really doesn't impact the shot much.

Here is a shot upriver with the sun at my back. Btw, it was all of 30f this morning when I was taking these. It was quite frosty.

    Hey Paul,
Great sunset shots again, as usual. Any chance you move to DSLR in the near future?

Hey mate, I came so close to a k10D kit, I actually had it in the cart at one point but in the end it came down to the camera or a new laptop, and the laptop won due to necessity. Maybe next year or if I see a great deal on black friday or something I might do it yet. Awfully tempting. Don't get me wrong, I still love my s6k but I would also love the added flexibility and the larger sensor too.

Ah ha Paul... I understand the temptation alright.
The way the MP war goes now, I doubt if its replacement can stand toe to toe against S6000fd. Take F31/F50fd for example. And that means S6000fd will reign in lowlight for a long time yet.
If Fuji comes up with replacement camera (for S6000) with not more than 8MP, IS and TTL flash and similar feature then maybe we have another winner. Otherwise, it's just a step backward and S6000 owners will hold on to their cameras for a long time.
And yes.... imagine a PnS camera with S6000 IQ and with external TTL flash.... that will cut a chunk out of entry level DSLR market.

    Thanks, Thunderchase for the comments.

Here are a few more from the other day I was sitting on my front porch and it was raining outside. The first two pictures I noticed that if I zoomed to the faraway focus the black iron rod would be out of focus. Then vice versa if I zoomed in on the black iron rod. It was interesting to see. You can also see the different effects of the rain.

It was a spectacular evening in Minnesota today. Not only did I catch a great sunset on a crystal clear evening, but tonight is the hunters moon. They call it that because most of the hunting seasons are just getting started around here but that's not why it's special. Its special tonight because the moon is at it's closest point to the earth, almost 30,000 miles closer than in April. Enjoy!
