Hi there, cyclone2! Thank you for introducing yourself. It's nice to meet you.
Funny you didn't realize you had registered here. I guess it was your subconscious that knew it was the right thing to do. Because if you're trying to improve your photography skills, this is a good place to be.
How long have you been into photography and what kind of pictures do you like to take?
And...do you perhaps have a picture of yourself, that you'd like to show us in this thread?
Welcome to these forums and good luck with your photography!
Wesan, I think I must have registered so I can se which threads are updated. It was a thread about (he who shall not have his name spoken) that caught my eye initially and then I saw a D700 pictures thread with some very nice shots in.
I have owned my D80 for about 18 months, but I think I may have actually been interested long before that. I shoot a lot of motorsports and dabble in pretty much whatever I can, I like night shots and try to do portraits for family et al.
I'll have a look for a photo of myself, but I do look better behind the camera
EDIT: Here I am looking confused in "the studio".

Top facial expression cyclone. Perhaps you should be in front of the camera more often.
Top lightning shot ANP, still trying to get one of those myself - I'm envious.

This seemed like an appropriate place for my first post. Just a brief introduction. My name is Corey. I got into photography through one of my other hobbies, which is growing palms and exotic plants. I'm also into various things computer related and home cinema. One day I'll find a cheap hobby.
I usually shoot with a Nikon D80, mostly palms/plants and wildlife, but also whatever I can find to take photo's of when I'm on holiday, i.e. landscapes, architecture, etc.
I look forward to giving and receiving advice from everyone here.
I registered mainly so I could ask a question I have not been able to find much info. about, by searching here or even on Google. Look for a new thread titled "soap bubbles in images?" coming soon...
We have something somewhat in common - my wife is from the Philippines.
To everyone:
I am mainly an audio guy, though I enjoy my quite amateur photography, and use it somewhat in my business / web site. (I am not sure how much I can say about my web site without violating the forum rules about "plugs for commercial web sites".) Let's just say that if anyone has an audio question, or is curious, feel free to contact me there.
There is quite a bit more about me on my web site, including an informal "resume". I'll try to add more, here, later. For now, it's on to my question / thread...
