Introduce yourself (face the photographer)!

Hi, my name is David, live in Florida. Beginning to do some travelling. I am still trying to determine which site I want to use to load pictures. Once I decide that I will post a link. I recently lost about three years of pictures, both my hard drive and external back up drive crashed simultaneously. So I will be building back up.

Well there are loads of Photo upload sites
Flickr, Photobucket for example - just to mention 2
Many of them have an upload limit unless you pay extra
I personally really like multiply.com - I have never run into an upload
restriction there.
as for keeping my photos - I don't rely on a site - I use an external Hard drive
and also back up onto CD's or these days DVD's
So basically - I am leaving nothing to chance
I have my Photo Hard drive, my external Hard drive and DVD's
all with the same images stored.
Multiply is great - I don't know why more folks aren't using it...

Perhaps most people have never seen it advertised before ?

I think people tend to go with the bigger companys like flicker and picasa as they are promoted more ?

Also there seems to be no way of seeing what you can do with Multiply until you regester?

Yes I am now loading them on disc also. Like I said, I don't know what happend but both my computer and the external hard drive crashed within 1 day of each other. It really sucked. I hadn't heard of multiply.com, but I am going to look it up now.

I truly enjoy photography both professional and amateur I am not a very act one myself but I find myself browsing through other's photos a couple hours a day just to see different styles of imagery. I am a new member here and I love to learn about the functions and features of the new upcoming cameras!
