Question Digital Artist Looking to Upgrade

I've been working as a digital artist for a number of years now and have recently taken on a serious interest in photo manipulation. I've been using a Sony 5 megapixel Cyber-Shot and really need an upgrade. The number of choices out there is overwhelming and I would be very thankful if someone could point me in the right direction.
Here is a rundown of what I am looking for:

    Budget
    $650 +/-

    Size
Any, but smaller is always better.

    Features
    10 megapixels

Image quality is the most important aspect for me. 10

Manual Controls is a must. I hate the auto focus on my Cyber-Shot.

    General Usage
    Outdoor scenes and lowlight.
    Macro shots.

    Large Prints

    Miscellaneous

    Image Stabilization
    Quick Startup
    A brand that's reliable/durable

Let me know if any more info is required. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

    Busy? I understand.

So now that Thanksgiving has come and gone; any ideas?
Seriously. I’ll take whatever advice you can give me.

I think you may be asking a bit much. If you want top quality 10MP images in low light, you really need a DSLR with a fast lens, and that's not likely within your budget. You don't say what focal length (zoom) range you need, but even with standard zoom, that's pushing it - especially if you need macro focussing.
