LOL .... that would definitly be a better way to spend time

I'll write a instruction post somewhere next week (I have exams at the moment). It is a bit too much time to write it now, basically because I still haven't figured out what I am actually doing myself . Especially the photomatix part, I just play with these sliders until I get something usefull out of it.

By the way, what do you think of this one:

    Name: compact-disc.jpg
Views: 345
Size: 185.1 KB

I figured that the rainbow colours on a CD had quite a big dynamic range so made a HDR of that. I blended 7 images, from -3EV till +3EV. After that I made the background whiter in photoshop, because it was too grey.

Phil, I'm sorry about all the BS, I decided to delete my message, it would only have made things worse.

looks like a lot of sun hitting those bushes behind though where you want to achieve a smooth bokeh, that always makes it harder cos direct sunlight will amplify the problem, especially if the plants were a little dewey.
    Jcon and Rooz,
Thanks for your pointers! Will keep that in mind.

This is when boards need an ignore button
    Ignore directions:
Click the user name in a post(brings up user profile)
Click "Add [user name] to your ignore list"

I have done this twice. But then later often end up seeing their post quoted by others anyway!

One photo of many taken at a large race--there were racers there from all over the world. This weekend, SoCal bound. Next weekend, the grand prix.

Nice picture. I like the softness of the picture. Not every picture needs to be tack sharp.

I think in this case it's not so much the focus causing the softness, but instead the shallow depth of field or the slow shutter speed (1/20s is hardly handholdable at 50mm).
