Yea there was very little notice, even though I was set up and waiting. I did not have the benefit of a countdown or status of the launch other than the launch time (which can always be delayed for various reasons).

Regardless, I'm still playing with the camera, and learning.

    Thanks for the comments!

Keeping with the NASA / Florida theme as I am down here for work...

The Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) after the shuttle launch. I would be happier with it if there wasn't a mad rush to leave.

They have added a bit since the last time I saw it in 1982.

I seem to recall some weird fact that the door is big enough for the UN building in New York to fit through. Somebody may know what the real fact is and not have me trust 27 yo memories.

Working for NASA specifically? Or a contractor? I'm from the Huntsville, Al area so I have all too much first hand work with NASA. Been in front of that building a handful of times.

Here's my shot from the launch, taken a few miles off the coast of Florida. Was on vacation, more of those shots later.

    Rtfm

I'm a boy. Boys only ever having fleeting looks at user manuals especially when they are over 400 pages long.
