Another one of my Motorsport pics, and probably my favorite as the text is very sharp even viewed at 100% despite the camera settings.
I spent that day basically breaking rules and trying to come up with something a little different.
    D80, 70-300VR @ 90mm
    f/8
    1/100s
    ISO800 (auto ISO)

These settings are NOT recommended (by me) if you want a high% of keepers, but the ones you do get are very satisfying.

I assume you were seated very close if that shot was taken at only 90mm focal length! Very cool!

Cheers guys, glad you like the motorsport stuff I do, it' not always popular depending on what forum you use.
I'm not too good at estimating distances but I'd say I was around 15 feet from the track at that point.

Cute looking cat, shame (for him) about his ear, but it gives him character.

Thank's for the comments. I was going to post this yesterday, but after TNB's Thunderbirds pic' I had to post the butterfly.

The wife and I done a drive by on these. I was driving she was shooting. I seen the bikes parked along the road so I slowed down and had her take a pic as we drove by.

Sorry for the filesize but I couldn't resist giving a bigger shot.
Max zoom 300mm and then 50% dig crop.

Yep still F8 (but I did take other shots wider on the day). This lenses VR seams to work really well and I feel perfectly confident at 300mm and 1/100s.
