Having a snooze. They fan themselves with their wings to keep still & yes the little bugger started fanning when I hit the button.

holy crap....how far away is the truck?

Can't remember. The shot was taken with the 18-55 kit lens and I was maybe 10 feet from the seal and the truck was perhaps 30 feet behind it.
Here is another for comparison. Unfortunately I couldn't get my sons eyes open and the seal looking at the same time. What's the saying? Never work with animals or kids! :-)

I'm not sure about other hosting sites but my images are on Flickr. If you right click on the image and get the URL from the properties you can go to the image on Flickr and get ALL the Exif data rather than just a synopsis.

Here's one taken with the kit lens 18-135 when I first got it. As you can see, there's a bit of CA. But, check out that horrible distortion!! Can the tree be bent any more than that?!?

wow...way to run a lens thru its paces !! given the difficult circumstances that lens had to put up with taking a pic full blown into the sun, i think it did an amazing job actually. not perfect, but for a kit lens, (considering some other kits i have had/seen/used in the past), it has impressive capabilties.

is this shot handheld ? looks very soft/ blurry ??

personally i would go back with a tripod and take that pic again cos the composition is fantastic.
