great shot andrew. lighting is perfect.

heres a couple of a 4-5mm praying mantis. quite difficult to shoot this guy, (alive !!), very small and quite fast. full set of tubes used, R1 and 105VR.

added another strobe to camera right and blasted the shit ouit of the frame to give me that white vacant space. dunno if i like it yet.

I love number two. Its a fantastic shot. Not sure about number three. The white is too overpowering

great shot TC. looks like a biggun. i havent seen many big guys around our way, they are all quite small. not sure if they dont reach maturity cos of predators, (lotsa spiders), or if they are just small species.

It was about 3 inches long. It was still young, it's wings weren't developed yet. I have pictures of one that is a little bigger with wings.

Nice landscape. I miss living in the Northwest. I lived in Everett for about a year in the mid '80s.

Thanks DPR. I used to take pictures with a fixed lense 35mm, a Kodak Retinette 1A. when I was a teenager. I just got into photography as a hobby this past July.

I got free photography classes with the purchase of my camera. They have really helped me to transition from a picture taker to being a photographer. I still have a long way to go.
